About

I am a graduate of Purdue University with a Bachelors of Science in Genetic Biology. In addition, I hold a Masters in Education from University of North Carolina Charlotte. I am a certified Grade 6 - 12 science teacher for all subject areas. I have worked with all types of students; I have helped middle school students trying to catch up in science, seniors completing online physics courses, and adult learners needing a refresher before returning to college.

I specialize in science tutoring across all subjects and grades. The cost for tutoring is $50 for an hour session. In addition to personal one-on-one instruction, I provide additional study materials and cater to a learner's specific needs. My experience as a teacher at both the High School and Middle School level have helped me to cater to the different ways a person learns.

Subjects

I am certified to teach all subject levels from grade six through high school. I teach specifically Biology and Physics at Charlotte Preparatory School. The following subjects are ones that I specialize in and have numerous laboratory inquiries to provide as part of the tutoring program.

Biology

My degree is in genetic biology from Purdue University. I have taught the North Carolina EOC exam class and have helped well over 200 students pass the End of Course Exam. In addition to numerous lab resources, I use several workbooks to provide additional practice and questions from previous EOC exams.

Earth Science

For students interested in additional help for earth science I provide a number of catastrophic event experiments that make the learning exciting and within reach.

Physics

I provide fantastic instruction in Physics and Physical Science. For students that have trouble with the math I teach shortcuts in addition to the proper technique. I have a lab closet full of fun inquiry activities to provide hands on learning if a student is struggling to grasp concepts.

Locations

I come to you at no additional cost. I have tutored at homes, bookstores, libraries, and even my classroom. When we speak on the telephone we will arrange a location.
